This particular kitchen island was built in a video I posted to my Youtube channel, Homemade Home. In that video I was in need of an island for a rental property and decided to build and not buy. You too can make this island using these plans. While it may look like an advanced project for the average home owner. You'll see in the plans there is no joinery specified but I suggest pocket hole screws. You can buy an inexpensive jig and drill bit at the same hardware store you purchase your lumber or order one online. I use a Kreg jig, both a larger model with built in clamp and a small and very inexpensive version that will fit in your pocket. The PDF file is 9 pages with the cover, a 4 page write up with tips, suggestions, etc and 4 pages of hand drawn diagrams showing all necessary dimensions. I show a turned leg in the plans, but your can substitute in a tapered leg, straight leg or purchase turned legs online if you do not have access to a lathe or someone to turn them for you. Email me at thehomesteadcraftsman@gmail.com if you have any questions. Thanks.
